Recommendations for creating camos

We highly recommend that our players comply with the camo creating principles and requirements described below.
If you follow these guidelines you will have a greater chance of seeing your camo in the Market

General requirements

  • Screenshots attached to post must show the specifics of the camouflage;
  • Recommended aspect ratio of the first screenshot is 4:3, width - not less than 1280 pixels;
  • Your publication should have a single .blk file for one vehicle camo;
  • Textures should have either the .dds or the .tga extension;
  • It is recommended to save .tga textures with maximal quality;
  • It is recommended to save .dds textures without compression (DXT), otherwise ingame artifacts may appear;
  • The size of each side of this texture in pixels should correspond to two times to some extent (for example, 2048, 4096, 8192), the ratio between the sides should be the same as the original texture;
  • Textures should contain all RGBA channels;
  • Textures should not contain prohibited symbols, copyrighted trademarks and should comply with both the live.warthunder.com rules and the game rules.

Ground vehicles camos

  • Repeated textures should be tiled;
  • Diffused textures (_с.*) should be implemented using the set_text instead of replace_text block.

Aircraft camos

  • Content for the market will not be selected if the camouflage contains changes in the cockpit;
  • Changing the texture of the engine flame on aircraft is not desirable and in most cases will lead to a rejection when selecting content for the market;
  • _dmg.* textures must illustrate damages
  • Damages and chips of paint on _dmg.* textures should not at the borders of different sections of the damage-model in the covering;
  • The identification markings on aircraft of countries from the fascist/Nazi bloc should not contain prohibited symbols;
  • For Italian aircraft it is recommended to use harmonised markings (download).
  • The markings indicating shot down aircraft as well as the personal emblems of the pilots should not contain prohibited symbols. It is recommended to use the uniform image standards adopted in the game.
